LUSU Wins Highest Green Impact Award

We are proud to announce that Lancaster University Students’ Union (LUSU) has achieved Excellent in the 2025-26 Green Impact Awards! 

Green Impact SU is a nationwide programme run by SOS-UK that recognises and rewards sustainability efforts in Student Unions across the UK 

 
For the second year in a row, LUSU has scored ‘Excellent’ - the highest possible grade. Auditors loved our nature and biodiversity volunteer programme, Sports, Societies and Colleges Sustainability Competition and ECOChallenge.  

 
Thus far this academic year, LUSU Green have engaged 576 students in our sustainability work – from volunteering sessions to workshops and events. We also have a core contingent of over 120 volunteers who regularly attend our events and make change on the ground. 

We’d like to thank our wonderful volunteers, everyone who attended an event, our fantastic LUSU officers, staff and sustainability committee, our friends at Lancaster University and beyond campus, for helping make this achievement possible!
